Entertainment for everyone in Banbury this Spring Feature

From family fun to stand-up comedy and terrific tributes – there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Spring at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury!

Catch Shark in the Park (10th February) – all three of Nick Sharratt’s Shark in the Park books live on stage in a fin-tastic, family musical! From the creative team behind The Hairy Maclary Show and You Choose, this show follows Timothy Pope (and his telescope!) on 3 exciting adventures…

“Nick Sharratt’s clever and simple keyhole books for early years have had a triumphant makeover for the stage.” The Stage

“Another foot tapping musical delight of show.” EdinburghFestivalFor-Kids

Families will also love Claytime (17th February), an interactive play with clay for 3–6-year-olds by award-winning company Indefinite Articles. Each Claytime is totally unique – creating its own world, its own characters and its own stories drawn directly from its young audience. Truly, interactive theatre at its most engaging!

Music fans are in for a treat this month too, as we welcome a whole host of top tribute bands. See the songs of Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran come to life in one power-packed show From Gold to Rio (10th February), experience a stunning celebration of one of the greatest singers of all time in Celine: My Heart Will Go On (23rd February), or witness a breathtaking, five-star show with Lionel: The Music of Lionel Richie (24th February) – featuring powerhouse Malcolm Pitt who appeared with Lionel Richie himself on ITV’s Sunday Night At The Palladium!

We’ve got plenty of comedy on offer this season as well. Laugh Out Proud (22nd February) is a brand-new LGBTQIA+ comedy night, featuring the best in established and upcoming acts from the community on the UK comedy circuit.  Or come along to see comedian du jour Alison Spittle in her new solo stand-up show Soup (29th January). Alison has been voted one of British Comedy Guide’s best reviewed artists of the Fringe, so be sure not to miss what is certain to be a laugh-a-minute night of hilarity!

If you love theatre, make sure you join us for The Haunting (16th February). This gripping adaptation of some of Charles Dickens’ most haunting works, based on his spine-tingling tales of the unexpected, will have you on the edge of your seat! Or for a fantastic evening of dance, don’t miss by acclaimed dance company Extended Play with their show DONUTS (1st March). Inspired by classic sitcoms of the 90s and 2000s, this piece bursts with precision and soul in a hypnotic and playful ‘groove along’ to jazz and funk.

If you’re interested in something a little different, check out Hundred Watt Club (15th February) as they bring a glittering, sizzling line-up of burlesque showgirls, comedy, circus and cabaret acts to The Mill – the perfect Valentine’s date!
