Julian had worked as a mechanic and engineer for 25 years when we set the business up in September 2020. JC (Julian Clayton) Road (everyday road cars) and Race (Aston Martin GT4 race cars) is where our name came from. Nowadays we mostly work on the type of cars you drive every day. Julian is especially good at “there’s a weird noise coming from my car“ and problem solving. Our priority is to make sure you are safe.
We work hard to be an approachable and honest husband and wife team and are happy to explain everything. Julian is the mechanic and Vicki does admin, parts, finance and manages the diary.
Julian can carry out all car maintenance including:
- Major and minor services which include carrying out an extensive service checklist.
- MOT preparation and repairs – taking the vehicle to be MOT’d at no extra cost above the standard MOT fee.
- Diagnostics, reading error codes, identifying, carrying out required repair and clearing codes and service lights.
- Electrical diagnostics, fault finding and repair
