Celebrate Spot’s Birthday at The Mill!

We’re excited to be welcoming Spot’s Birthday Party (1st–3rd August) to our stage here at The Mill Arts Centre – a joyful, interactive theatre experience designed especially for little ones aged 2+ and their grown-ups. This brand-new adaptation of Eric Hill’s beloved Happy Birthday Spot is bursting with music, dancing and playful fun, making it the perfect introduction to theatre. Join Spot, Steve the Monkey, Tom the Crocodile, Helen the Hippo and Spot’s parents, Sally and Sam, in a delightful celebration. Every ticket includes a free party hat – and a chance to meet Spot himself after the show!

If you’re looking for a sophisticated evening of music, Swing from Paris (18th July) bring the golden age of jazz to life. This exceptional quartet channels the elegance and energy of 1930s–50s swing, inspired by the sounds of Benny Goodman and Charlie Christian with Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France. Expect a stylish evening of Parisian-flavoured jazz and gypsy swing!

Country music fans are in for a treat with The Big Country Music Show (25th July) – a high-energy, two-hour celebration of old-school country at its finest! From the award-winning band behind One Night in Dublin, this feel-good show is packed with foot-stomping, hand-clapping, boot-scootin’ singalong favourites.

We’re also thrilled to welcome back local favourites Fairport Convention (4th & 5th August) for their annual Cropredy Festival warm-up shows. These special performances will not only feature the full Fairport set but also offer a sneak peek at some of the guest artists joining them onstage at the festival. A must for long-time fans and new listeners alike!

Craving some comedy? Don’t miss award-winning comedians Rob Auton & John Kearns (24th July) as they preview their latest shows before heading up to the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Rob Auton has written seven five star rated Edinburgh fringe shows and John Kearns is the only comedian to have won both the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show and Best Newcomer in the awards’ 40-year history.

And for those with a fascination for true crime, The Psychology of Serial Killers (26th July) promises a gripping and chilling evening. Join expert speaker Jennifer Rees as she explores the darkest corners of forensic psychology – from the motivations behind some of history’s most notorious killers to the curious phenomenon of women who fall in love with them. Not for the faint-hearted, this is one show you won’t forget.
