The Mill at Woodgreen

The first performances have now taken place with great success at The Mill at Woodgreen, our pop-up theatre at Woodgreen Leisure Centre while repairs to our auditorium floor are underway. Meanwhile, we are pleased that The Mill itself remains open with a busy programme of creative classes and workshops taking place throughout the building, as well as our canalside Café Bar.

Woodgreen Leisure Centre’s vast indoor bowls hall has been transformed into a dedicated space for magical live performances to take place, with full professional staging, sound and lighting, an extensive bar offer and free parking onsite at Woodgreen.

The first performance at The Mill at Woodgreen took place on Thursday 25th April as audiences were treated to an evening of comedy with headliner Paul Sinha (The Chase), with near sell-out crowds. This was followed by two stand-out music performances: Lollypops & Moptops with The Temple Brothers and the Dreamers (26th April) and The Budapest Café Orchestra (27th April). Our opening weekend concluded with Comedy Club 4 Kids (28th April), who returned to Banbury after last year’s hugely popular performance. More exciting performances are planned over the next few weeks, with full details on our website and What’s On Guides available from our Box Office.

We are delighted by the response we have received from audience members who have attended shows at The Mill at Woodgreen:

“I was so impressed with the pop up The Mill Arts Centre at Woodgreen Leisure Centre last night. The Budapest Cafe Orchestra were fantastic and the acoustics were amazing. Such beautiful music with a touch of humour too! I was  impressed with the way the new venue has been organised – definitely worth checking out what is happening there in the next couple of months.”

“We loved it, we saw the first show last night, so organised, great bar area and a lot of people were saying how great it was the shows could go on.”

“Well done THE MILL ARTS CENTRE changing the Woodgreen Leisure Centre bowling area into a theatre for tonight’s performance! The acoustics and the setting was perfect. A great time was had by all!”

We are immensely grateful to the team at Woodgreen Leisure Centre and to Cherwell District Council for working with us to make this possible.

So whether you’re visiting The Mill, or The Mill at Woodgreen – kick back, relax and enjoy the very best of world-class entertainment, right here in Banbury!
