Banbury Rugby Club is set to embark on an extraordinary journey as it celebrates its centenary season, starting Sunday, August 25, 2024. This milestone season is expected to draw significant attention from the rugby community, the town of Banbury, and the surrounding region.
Exciting Events and Activities
A series of spectacular events are planned to mark this historic occasion, including a Centenary Ball, President’s Dinner, Centenary Match, and many more exciting events yet to be announced. The upcoming season promises to be a thrilling time for everyone associated with Banbury RUFC.
Diverse Rugby Programs
The club will field three senior men’s teams, host SEND rugby sessions, and organize Veterans, Walking, and Touch Rugby. Additionally, the Junior and Senior Belles teams and a comprehensive range of mini and junior squads will cater to players aged 6 to 80+. The 1st XV team will compete in the Regional 1 Midlands league, the fifth tier of the English rugby pyramid, offering a warm welcome to players of all ages and abilities.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Banbury RUFC boasts some of the finest facilities in the region. The club’s modern clubhouse and bar are sources of great pride, and the expansive 25-acre grounds provide six full-size rugby pitches (three of which are floodlit) and three mini pitches. Parking is ample, with space for over 200 cars on hardstanding and approximately 300 around the perimeter track.
Hospitality and Event Space
The grandstand accommodates up to 300 spectators, while the clubhouse offers 2,000 square feet of hospitality and conferencing space, equipped with state-of-the-art audio and video facilities. The venue can cater to 120 guests for formal events and 200 for informal gatherings, making it ideal for social events, weddings, and special occasions.
