Banbury Town Council Feature

We hope you are looking forward to the festive season and the New Year. As 2024 draws to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the year that has passed.

Banbury Town Council would like to thank everyone who made its many events this year some of the best we’ve put on in our 24-year history. We hosted or assisted with 13 stand-out occasions, celebrating the town’s thriving community, fascinating history, and bright future. This couldn’t have been achieved without the many dedicated and enthusiastic residents of Banbury, whether helping to put on the events or attending themselves.

In April, we kicked off the events calendar with the popular Taste of Spring, before enjoying Banbury Show and Armed Forces Day in June. Beautiful weather helped us put on one of the most popular and exciting Town Mayor’s Fundays in the history of the event, while Banbury Music Mix remained one of the highlights of the year. Our Summer season was rounded out with the diverse cuisines of the Banbury Food and Drink Festival, while Autumn saw the remainder of our yearly events, including Battle of Britain, Remembrance Sunday, and of course the ever-popular Banbury Canal Festival.

In November, we hosted the Christmas Lights Switch-On, with a fantastic musical line-up, exciting fireworks, and of course plenty of beautiful festive displays. This saw the conclusion of Banbury Town Council’s 2024 line-up, and we are now hard at work preparing for our 2025 calendar.

Banbury Town Council

It has been far from a calm year both here in the UK and globally, yet Banbury has thrived, growing not only in size but also in spirit. Our community is now larger, more diverse, and more welcoming than ever. We extend special thanks to our residents, whose acts of kindness and mutual support continue to exemplify the strength of a vibrant community, reaching every corner of our town.

Banbury Town Council is looking forward to 2025 and a host of exciting events, with returning celebrations such as Banbury Music Mix, Banbury Food and Drink Festival, and Town Mayor’s Funday all set to entertain visitors once again with brand-new attractions as well as some old favourites.

We hope you enjoy the rest of 2024 and can’t wait to announce our full event line-up for 2025. Until then, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
