Lando Norris

British racing sensation Lando Norris discusses his journey to the front row of Formula 1, his growth on and off the track, and his ambitions for the 2025 season.

At just 25, Lando Norris is already a seasoned racing driver, known for impressive speed, performance consistency, and signature determination on the Formula 1 circuit. Born in Bristol and raised in Glastonbury, his destiny has long been geared toward the road to success.

After winning the 2014 Karting World Championship, Norris dominated Junior Formula-E, claiming titles in MSA Formula, Formula Renault and FIA Formula 3 by 2017 with Carlin Racing. He joined the Woking-based McLaren team as a junior later that year and rapid began cementing his place as one of the sport’s most promising talents.

It’s been a journey of persistence and growth, claiming his first F1 podium in Austria (2020), pole position in Russia (2021), and his maiden win in 2024 at the Miami Grand Prix.

“When I joined McLaren, I knew there’d be a steep learning curve,” he says. “Although, that’s what makes F1 so thrilling. Every race is an opportunity to learn something new about the car, the strategy, and myself as a driver.”

Lando Norris has continued to evolve, establishing himself as a fan favourite with his sharp wit and impressive racing acumen. He’s been instrumental in the Papaya orange team’s resurgence, pushing the team forward as they regain ground against the ‘big three’ of Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari.

“We’ve had some incredible races and I genuinely feel we’re moving in the right direction. The car is fast and the teamwork is stronger than ever.”

But beyond the glitz of F1, Norris remains refreshingly grounded, with a focus on continual self-improvement.

“My goal is always to push a little bit harder and keep looking forward,” he explains. “Formula 1 is constantly evolving, and so am I. Every lap, every corner is a chance to perfect my craft.”

As he heads into the 2025 season, the starlet has his eyes set on even higher stakes. “Winning is, of course, the goal,” he admits with a grin. “Yet it’s about building on what we’ve achieved so far. The team have been working tirelessly to ensure our car can take on the front-runners and I’m excited to see where that takes us.”

Looking further forward, Lando Norris is also enthusiastic about the changes and advancements that continue to shape F1. “The sport is going through a really intriguing cycle – from sustainability efforts to safety improvements,” he observes. “It’s an exciting time to be part of F1, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.”
