Mollington Horse Races

With Spring in full flow, the Mollington Horse Races beckon once again. The Warwickshire Point to Point meeting promises an exhilarating blend of tradition, excitement, and family fun in the countryside. This May Day Bank Holiday Monday, prepare to immerse yourself in the heart of English springtime festivities, where the thrill of horse racing meets the joy of a community gathering.

A Tradition Reimagined

The Mollington Horse Races have long been a staple of the local calendar, drawing enthusiasts and families alike to the picturesque setting of Warwickshire for a day of sporting fun. This year, we’re thrilled to announce an array of new attractions alongside our cherished traditions, ensuring that the 2025 meeting is more memorable than ever.

Gates Open to a Day of Discovery

Kicking off at 11 am on Monday, the 5th of May, the gates open earlier this year than in previous years to welcome you to a day packed with activities. The sprawling grounds of Mollington serve as the perfect canvas for a day of exploration, laughter, and excitement. From the moment you step in, you’re invited into a world where the beauty of the countryside meets the thrill of competition.

Fun Dog Show

The Fun Dog Show will take place at 12 noon, run by local charity, Dogs For Good. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase your four-legged companions in a fun and friendly environment, all while supporting a fantastic cause, and you could win a prize!

A Feast for the Senses

As always, the Mollington Horse Races are a feast for the senses. The children’s area returns with its ever-popular bouncy castle, ensuring the little ones have a day filled with joy and laughter. Meanwhile, the array of trade stands, the bustling beer tent, and a diverse selection of food stalls cater to all tastes, from those seeking the comfort of hot and cold catering to the sweet delight of an ice cream van.

For a more personal touch, you’re welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it from the boot of your car, embracing the tradition of tailgating with a distinctly British twist. It’s a chance to create your own cosy spot amidst the excitement, sharing food and stories with loved ones.

The Heart of the Event: Horse Racing

At the core of the day’s festivities are the horse races themselves, with the first race setting off at 2 pm. Seven races are on the card, featuring the best amateur steeplechase horses in the country. Among these, the Warwickshire Members race stands out as a highlight, embodying the spirit of local competition and camaraderie. It’s a testament to the skill, bravery, and bond between horse and rider, offering spectators a thrilling display of athleticism and strategy.

A Community United

The Mollington Horse Races are more than just an event; they’re a celebration of community, outdoor life, and the enduring charm of the British countryside. Well-behaved dogs on fixed leads are warmly welcomed, and the course is open for walking before the races begin, allowing everyone to bask in the beauty of the surroundings and the anticipation of the races to come.
