JustWatch’s latest Why-To-Watch feature spotlights acclaimed director and animator Tim Miller, the visionary behind Netflix’s genre-defying anthology Love, Death & Robots, which premiered its fourth season May 15.

In an exclusive quote shared with JustWatch, Miller speaks to the show’s groundbreaking creative freedom and its potential to convert even the most hesitant viewer into an animation devotee.

Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots is a critically acclaimed animated anthology that explores the intersection of technology, human nature, and the surreal. With each episode telling a self-contained story through a unique animation style and genre lens, the series has earnedpraise for its bold creativity, striking visuals, and thought-provoking narratives.

Executive produced by Tim Miller and David Fincher, the series continues to be one of Netflix’s most visually daring and thematically diverse offerings.

The fourth season of this series is already making waves—reaching #21 in the U.S. on the JustWatch Streaming Charts and poised to climb higher.

Tim Miller on the Power of Love, Death & Robots:

Tim Miller exploded into the spotlight with the wildly successful, R-rated superhero hit Deadpool (2016), which redefined what comic book movies could be. Prior to that, he co-founded Blur Studio, where he helped create some of the most visually stunning work in gaming and animation, including Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011).

Miller later directed Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) and executive produced the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise, from its 2020 breakout hit and two sequels. He also created the revolutionary animated anthology Secret Level on Prime Video.

He serves as creator and executive producer of Love, Death & Robots—a Netflix series that has become a cult phenomenon for fans of speculative fiction and cutting-edge animation.

“There’s something for everyone [in Love, Death & Robots]. If you want to see artists performing at the top of their game across a variety of genres and styles, and you’re an animation fan, it’s a must-watch. If you’re not an animation fan, this is the show that might make you one.”

Celebrated for pushing the boundaries of adult animation and storytelling, Love, Death & Robots continues to captivate audiences with its bold visual style, genre diversity, and mind-expanding themes. Whether you’re a sci-fi lover, horror buff, or surrealist dreamer, there’s an episode waiting to blow your mind.

Love, Death & Robots is available in its entirety to watch now on Netflix.
