Sibford School

Nestled in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside just seven miles from Banbury, Sibford School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for children from Early Years through to Sixth Form.

What makes Sibford different is hard to capture in words. It’s a feeling – one of optimism, humanity, and belonging. A sense that every student is valued as an individual and given the space to discover who they truly are. Students are not just educated here; they are nurtured, encouraged, and inspired to grow into confident, well-rounded individuals, ready to take on life’s opportunities and challenges.

Small class sizes mean that every student receives individual attention from dedicated teachers who are passionate about nurturing curiosity and stretching minds. The curriculum is rich and varied, enhanced by a wealth of co-curricular activities that help students unearth their talents—whether that be in traditional academic subjects, the creative arts, technology, or horticulture.

At Sibford, education is never ‘one size fits all.’ The school focuses on the unique potential of every child, encouraging them to explore, discover, and challenge themselves in a calm and supportive environment. This is a place where students are allowed to think creatively about their learning journey, and where academic success is underpinned by outstanding pastoral care.

The Department for Education’s latest progress data highlights exceptional achievements from Sibford students:

  • BTEC Excellence – Ranked top in Oxfordshire and placed within the top 5% nationally for progress in BTEC courses.
  • A Level Achievement – Among the top 5 schools in Oxfordshire and within the top 20% nationally for A Level progress, reflecting the strength of the school’s values-based approach.

Head, Rebecca Evans, explains: “At Sibford, there has always been a belief that a nurturing approach and a focus on holistic education create the best environment for students to thrive. To see this philosophy reflected in official Department for Education data is truly rewarding. This success is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and ambition of the pupils, the unwavering support of exceptional teachers, and the wonderful parent community.

This achievement reaffirms a commitment to providing an education that not only focuses on academic excellence but also fosters holistic development, preparing students to take their place in the world with confidence and compassion.”

Sibford’s school culture is rooted in Quaker values—endeavour, respect, community, and kindness. These values are lived every day, fostering a strong sense of connection and collaboration among students and staff alike.

Boarders can join from Year 7 onwards. In addition to full and weekly boarding, Sibford offers a flexible boarding option that allows students to stay overnight at school on a part-time basis, designed to work around busy family life. The boarding houses are separate from the school buildings, creating a genuine home where life beyond academics unfolds.

Whether a child dreams of excelling in academics, pursuing creative passions, or following a more hands-on path, Sibford is a school where every aspiration is valued. Young people are given the confidence to be themselves, the courage to try new things, and the support to succeed.

Rebecca Evans warmly invites families to come and experience the Sibford difference firsthand. “My words don’t quite do Sibford justice,” she says. “If what I’ve said resonates with you, please do come and meet us. We would love to share the Sibford experience and get to know you and your family.”

Sibford holds regular open events throughout the year and welcomes personal visits. The next whole school open events take place on Friday the 12th of September and Friday the 10th of October. For more information, visit Sibford.org.uk/events or call 01295 781 203.
