Since Christmas 2009 my village church have been supporting my projects in Sierra Leone. I have just recived a donation from the Christmas offertories of £570 and this takes the total raised to £7,621.
Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed, your support, once again, is greatly appreciated.
Banbury Rotary Club
Last November the Club organised their annual Children Singing for Children concerts involving 500+ children from 22 local primary schools over four evenings. As a result the Club has recently donated £2,100 to AlansAfrica which will be allocated towards the building of an additional classroom at Kankalay school in Port Loko. I first worked with the school in 2022 and have funded the building of 4 classrooms, an office, staffroom, store and a toilet block. Due to these new facilities the number on the school role has increased and they now need more classrooms, ideally two. I have undertaken to build one initially and a second when funds become available. I currently have £3,960 towards the total cost of the 2 classrooms which is £9,500.

Bishop Carpenter Primary School, North Newington
The school took part in the Children Singing for Children event last November and having heard about the refurbishment of Kono Town Primary School that had been completed during the summer holidays, they decided to donate some items of school uniform and sports kit to the school as they were no longer needed. This was shipped out to Freetown and arrived during the Christmas holidays. The photos show some of the 100+ items which were donated to the school, which they received at the start of this term. The donation was greatly appreciated by the school and we received a lovely letter of thanks from the headmistress.

Oxford United, continuing their support for Alans Africa
Since 2012 Oxford United have been donating kit items to me to distribute to teams and community members in Sierra Leone. During this time, we have supplied dozens of team strips to school and community teams as well as hundreds of individual items to community members and there are many teams in Sierra Leone playing under the Oxford United name. The support has “Made a Real Difference” to so many people and I must offer my sincere thanks to all the guys at Oxford United for their tremendous support. We are still donating to communities, but with Oxford United’s blessing, I recently set Mohamed, (an orphan, who I first met 20 years ago, front left, kneeling), up in business running the Oxford United Unofficial Club Sho
