Our previous review of Farm and Table last June produced such a tremendously positive reaction from our readers that we thought it only fair that we returned again, but this time, in the evening to sample their awesome tapas offering. We mentioned to you last time that good local produce was at the heart of everything they do at this new and very popular restaurant.
This was borne out again by the fantastic selection of fresh, tasty and innovative small plates, which we eagerly shared, from the very comprehensive tapas menu.
Everything is made from scratch and it certainly shows with each dish oozing quality. The food miles are very low and they know the source of every ingredient on the plate. Ali our waiter explained the origin of each dish as they were presented.
We decided to start the evening off with cocktails all round namely the Basil Daiquiri, a Strawberry Mojito and a non alcoholic No-Expresso Martini.
The tapas started rolling out and made an impressive display. We were privilaged to enjoy each dish from the following menu:
Gordel Olives.
Homemade Sourdough and Butter.
Homemade Hummus, Chili & Coriander Cracker.
Garden Beetroot Tart, Caramelized Onions, Goats Cheese.
Patatas Bravas, Tomato Sauce and Parsley Aioli.
Padron Peppers, Romesco Sauce.
Softshell Crab, Lime Pickled Dip.
Crispy Buttermilk Chicken, Smoked Chipotle Dip.
Honey and Mustard Cocktail Sausages, Homemade Chorizo, Gherkins.
Longhorn Beef Meatballs, Provencal Sauce, Manchego Cheese.
Wykham Park Farm Lamb Rump, Ratatouille.
Beef Carpaccio, Parmesan Cheese, Watercress, Balsamic Onions.
Seafood Paella, Chorizo, Peas and Saffron.
Crispy Cornish Calamari, Harissa Mayo.
King Prawns in Chilli and Garlic Oil.
We eagerly tucked into each one whilst talking excitedly about the flavours and sheer quality. We finished the evening off with a Chocolate Cookie Dough skillet with Vanilla Ice Cream and a Chocolate Brownie Knickerbocker Glory with Garden Raspberry Coulis. All fantastic in taste. These fabulous tapas offerings are only available on Friday and Saturday evenings. Enjoy as many as you like, go as a couple, group of friends or family and make it a truly memorable experience.
For a special occasion and to encourage conversation this is a winner. To avoid disappointment you should definitely book in advance.
