This Summer at The Mill Arts Centre, there’s a fantastic line-up of comedy, live music, family activities and much more – including a special performance by megastar comedian Omid Djalili!
An extremely rare opportunity to catch Omid in an intimate environment, Omid Djalili & Friends (10th June) promises an evening of laugh-a-minute hilarity with support acts including Jacob Hawley (as seen on The Russell Howard Hour) and Sharon Wanjohi (as seen on The Stand Up Sketch Show). Just last year, Omid made an acclaimed appearance on The Royal Variety Performance, with previous appearances ranging from Hollywood films (The Mummy, Notting Hill, Gladiator) to television (Live At The Apollo) and the West End stage.
Ahead of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, we welcome back stand-up star Simon Brodkin (20th July), as well as a special return performance by the legendary Adam Kay (26th & 27th July) with a preview of his new show based on the literary sensation and multi-award-winning BBC series This is Going to Hurt. Make sure to catch Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Glenn Moore (22nd June) with a preview of his brand-new stand-up show with support by Alexandra Haddow, one of the London comedy circuit’s most popular and exciting new comedians.
Deadpan Frenchman Marcel Lucont also returns to The Mill, this time with his Cabaret Fantastique (16th June) – the hit cabaret spectacular from festivals around the world. As seen on Comedy Central and The John Bishop Show, Marcel hosts this feast of alternative international cabaret with comedy, music, poetry and circus, all held together by dry wit and a dry white.
“The most unique evening of cabaret you will experience… Lucont is a comedic genius” – Australia Times
There’s still time to catch beautiful ballet for all the family to enjoy, as Mill family favourites Let’s All Dance return with their new show Teddy Bears’ Picnic (2nd June). Combining classical ballet, physical theatre, gorgeous visuals and crystal-clear storytelling, this fresh, innovative dance company pitches another production perfectly to engage and enthral all children. Plus, join talented Toscana Strings as classic children’s stories Peter and the Wolf and Julia Donaldson’s Monkey Puzzle (17th June) are brought to life with music and dance, in what is sure to be a delightful pair of family concerts!
There’s plenty for music fans to enjoy as well, with an immersive trip through 60’s and 70’s California in California Dreams (30th June), as well as a five-star exploration of the country music icon in The Dolly Parton Show (23rd June). You won’t want to miss our next standing gig with Yolanda Charles’ Project pH (28th June) – featuring a wide range of musical styles, from beautiful ballads to an original fusion of funk, rock, jazz, and R&B-influenced soulful tunes, we’re thrilled to welcome this international star to The Mill stage.
