An Unforgettable Half Term At The Mill

25 February 2025
in Culture, Entertainment, Events

We know how February Half Term can sometimes feel – especially when the weather’s a bit grey and the evenings are still dark… but fear not! We’ve got a whole host of events to keep everyone entertained!

Let’s All Dance retells a classic tale for all the family through ballet in Snow White and Rose Red (15th February) while Sonrisa Arts invites little ones (and their grown-ups!) to visit the theatre in their PJs to watch Dance In The Dark (20th February). For the adults needing a bit of escapism and nostalgia, Paris in a Jazz Age (21st February) transports us to the swing scene of 1920s–40s Paris, and The Elton John Show (22nd February) lets us relive the classics – from Rocket Man to Tiny Dancer. And for those looking for a Valentine’s Day with a twist, the fantastic Meatloaf tribute Heaven Can Wait (14th February) is sure to shake things up!

Music lovers, you’re in for a treat as Miranda Sykes & Jim Causley (27th February) tour their new album – an unmissable chance to hear two of the UK’s most iconic folk voices. If you’re in the mood for a feel-good night out, don’t miss Diana & Lionel – Endless Love (1st March), a tribute to two legendary artists, featuring a sensational cast and live band. For a celebration of ska, reggae, and two-tone, Skamungas (7th March) will take you on a 7-decade musical journey, while dirtyjACkDC (8th March) will rock the house with note-perfect AC/DC guitar solos and passionate vocals.

Get ready for a night full of laughs with Justin Moorhouse (28th February), who shares his hilarious tales about pantomimes, dreams, hospital visits, and small talk. Shaparak Khorsandi (30th March) will take us inside her chaotic and funny mind as she recounts her early years as a comic and a woman-about-town.

Bring your tissues for OVO Theatre’s fresh retelling of the classic love story of Romeo & Juliet (25th – 26th February) set in a divided Belfast. In Sherlock Holmes: The Last Act (13th March), Holmes returns to Baker Street to resolve his final case after the death of Dr. Watson. And there’s more family magic as Folksy Theatre tell Quentin Blake’s story of Angelica Sprocket’s Pockets (23rd February) with live music, puppetry, audience interaction and madness!

For those interested in dance, The Mill’s Remarkable Dance Company (11th March) of over-50s dancers will present a vibrant showcase with live performance and film, touching on themes of climate change, gender, and loss. Meanwhile as part of Out of The Mill, our programme of activities taking place outside of our walls, Pagrav Dance Company present Aunusthan at Bure Park Primary School in Bicester (15th March). This modern celebration of classical Indian dance, performed by the best British-Asian talent, is an hour of pure mood-lifting delight!

We can’t wait to share these amazing events – and more – with you! Be sure to book your tickets early and get ready for unforgettable performances that will brighten up those dreary days.

Visit our website or pick up our What’s On Guide to discover what’s on at your local theatre!

Full details of our programme are available at www.themillartscentre.co.uk. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone 01295 279002 – or pop into our Box Office in person at The Mill Arts Centre, Spiceball Park Road, Banbury OX16 5QE.

The Mill is open 9:30am-4:30pm Monday-Saturday with hot and cold drinks and light refreshments available from the Café Bar.
