Get Ready To Be entertained!

Discover what’s on at your local theatre at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury, with a fantastic programme of live events, classes, and workshops this month!

Music fans will be thrilled as we kick off 2024 with an incredible tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston in I’m Every Whitney (6th January). See Whitney’s greatest hits from ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ to ‘I Will Always Love You’. Sing, dance and enjoy the very best of the legendary Whitney Houston in this evening of fun, laughter, and nostalgia. We are also delighted to welcome back 80s tribute band Sledgehammer (13th January) as they bring 3 hours of non-stop 80s classic pop and rock to The Mill in aid of local charity Katharine House Hospice. Dust off your dancing shoes, get your leg warmers warmed up, and get ready to party like it’s 1985!

There’s plenty for our younger audiences this month too! Don’t miss Lyngo Theatre’s Jack and the Beanstalk (6th January). This gripping story recommended for ages 3+ has something for everyone – enormous shoes, tiny houses, showers of silver and gold and a big, leafy explosion! We are also delighted to welcome back masterful magicians Morgan & West (26th January) with their massive magic show for kids. Expect gawps, gasps, and guffaws in this relentlessly funny and fantastical magic filled extravaganza.

Comedy fans are also in for a treat this month as we welcome back TV favourite Chris McCausland with his brand-new show, Yonks! (9th – 10th January). As seen on Would I Lie to You, Have I Got News for You, The Royal Variety, and tons more as well, the hilarious comedian is now hitting the road with another masterclass in stand-up comedy. The last tour was a sell-out, so get your tickets now! And for something a little different, why not join us for a stripped back evening with Star of the Inbetweeners Joe Thomas (18th January)? Predominantly focusing on The Inbetweeners, but touching on Joe’s other work including White Gold, Taskmaster and The Great Celebrity Bake Off, this promises to be a revealing and exclusive evening of hilarity and insight.

All of this, plus the chance to learn a new creative skill in our Spring term of workshops and weekly classes, with courses exploring arts and crafts, jewellery, yoga, creative writing and more. Expand your theatrical repertoire with our weekly Discover Improv class (weekly beginning 8th January), learn to write for stage in our Write a Play in 8 Weeks course (beginning 8th January), or express your artistic with a glass of wine in one hand and a paintbrush in the other in our brand-new Sip & Create sessions(12th January, 9th February, 8th March) – plus much more!

Visit our website or pick up our What’s On Guide to discover what’s on at your local arts centre!

Full details of our programme are available at www.themillartscentre.co.uk. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone 01295 279002 – or pop into our Box Office in person at The Mill Arts Centre, Spiceball Park Road, Banbury OX16 5QE.

The Mill is open 9:30am-4:30pm Monday-Saturday with hot and cold drinks and light refreshments available from the Café Bar.
