The team at Banburyshire Advice Centre are thrilled after discovering how they’re shining in the community. The team just received the news that between February 2023 to February 2024, they assisted 113 food bank cases, 101 Attendance Allowance cases and 66 Blue Badge applications.
The advice centre based in Banbury are an independent charity who provide advice on welfare benefits. Assistance filling in Personal Independent Payment forms, referrals on wills and power of attorney, tax advice, career advice to assistance with blue badge applications are just some of their services.
The charity itself was set up by Andy Willis BCAv, who believes in helping the local Banbury community. In 2016, Andy noticed the high levels of deprivation within Banbury, leading to him establishing the Banburyshire Advice Centre. With summer on the horizon, the team are so pleased with these positive numbers. With the cost of living increasing, the team believe many individuals are facing difficult times, the team are urging people to come forward should they be struggling with basic needs.
Andy Willis BCAv went on to comment:
“We’re seeing more people come to us for help and guidance, whether it be welfare benefits, blue badges to career advice. When I launched Banburyshire Advice Centre, I wanted to provide some sunshine for those who’re in need of it. Our services were set up to provide those going through difficult times with a lifeline. Resolving over 650 cases last year clearly shows this lifeline is working.
I’d like to thank our amazing team who do an incredible job for us on a day to day basis. If you’re in need of help, please email [email protected] or call 01295 279988. Please don’t be shy in coming forward, we have a lovely team who are waiting to help.”
