Unmissable Fun

Prepare for a thrilling lineup of unmissable fun live performances at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly shows, music to get you up and dancing, or laugh-out-loud comedy – there’s something for everyone!

Families won’t want to miss Nonsense Room’s Shark in the Park (29th August). Join Timothy Pope as he looks through his telescope and embarks on three exciting adventures based on Nick Sharratt’s beloved books. This fin-tastic family musical brings the joy of Shark in the Park, Shark in the Dark, and Shark in the Park on a Windy Day to life on stage.

“Nick Sharratt’s clever and simple keyhole books for early years have had a triumphant makeover for the stage.” The Stage

“Another foot tapping musical delight of show.” EdinburghFestivalFor-Kids

The critically acclaimed Pantaloons return to The Mill this summer with an innovative and comedic take on Robin Hood (17th August). Join Robin, Marian, and the Merry Men in Sherwood Forest for a hilarious adventure with live music that will have you laughing and cheering as Robin Hood outwits the shifty Sheriff of Nottingham once again. Or, for cutting-edge animation and a stunning soundtrack with a live presenter, join us for Wonders of Our Universe (10th August) and ignite your curiosity about space, time, and the origins of life.

Music enthusiasts are in for a treat too, with a series of tribute acts that promise to bring the house down. Marquee Square Heroes (30th August) deliver the excitement, power, and spectacle of Fish-era early Marillion while Hello Again (31st August) celebrates Neil Diamond’s glittering career with evocative imagery and live performances of his greatest hits. Oye Santana (7th September) turns up the heat with Latin rock hits like Smooth, Maria Maria, and Black Magic Woman performed with passion and perfection.

Get ready to laugh as we welcome Mostly Comedy (21st September), a comic mixed bill featuring Olivier Award nominee Arthur Smith, known for his appearances on BBC’s Grumpy Old Men and QI, alongside character comedy from Rosie Holt, a popular political satirist with millions of online views. And be sure to catch critically acclaimed stand-up from Joe Wells (26th September), which delves into representation, role models, and the fight for autistic rights.

Or for something a little different, get ready for a night of hilarity with Dom Joly’s Conspiracy Tourist (2nd October). Dom Joly takes you on a journey through the wackiest conspiracy theories, from flat earth theories to UFOs. With a unique blend of humour and insight, this show is sure to entertain and provoke thought.
